Day Three - Lucerne: Against the picture perfect setting of lakes and mountains, this morning’s walking tour of Lucerne will include its most famous landmarks – the Chapel Bridge, the Lion Monument, which commemorates the massacre of the Swiss Guards during the French Revolution, the remains of the city walls and the charming architecture of the old city. The remainder of the day is free to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and unique atmosphere of the most traditional of Swiss resorts.
Meals: Breakfast

Day Four - Lucerne / Neuschwanstein / Oberammergau: This morning we will depart Lucerne to continue our journey through Europe’s most spectacular mountain scenery and into Bavaria.  The highlight of today’s sightseeing will be our visit of Neuschwanstein, the fairy-tale castle of ‘mad’ King Ludwig II, where he attempted to re-create his images of medieval chivalry - so successfully that the castle was used as the model for Disneyland’s Cinderella Castle. Following our visit of Neuschwanstein we will continue to Oberammergau for dinner and overnight.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day Five - Oberammergau: The Passion Play has been performed in Oberammergau since 1634.  It is a tradition which, although common throughout Europe at that time, largely disappeared over the centuries. Except in this small Bavarian farming village it not only survived more than 350 years, but became famous all over the world. Oberammergau is also well-known for the traditional craft of wood-carving and for the frescoes decorating the village houses. This morning will be free to absorb the unique atmosphere of this Alpine village, before the afternoon and evening performance of the Passion Play.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day Six - Oberammergau / Munich / Salzburg: Following breakfast we will depart Oberammergau and drive to Munich, the capital of Bavaria, for an orientation tour and free time to visit the famous Hofbräuhaus, before we continue our journey to the Austrian border and on to Salzburg for dinner and overnight.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day Seven - Salzburg: Dominated by its 900 year old fortress, Salzburg has a truly spectacular setting which fully lives up to its reputation as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.  This morning’s walking tour of the city of Mozart and the Sound of Music will reveal the charm and atmosphere of this unique city - its Cathedral, Festival Hall, St. Peter’s Monastery and Cemetery, Mozart’s Birthplace and the main shopping street of Getreidegasse.  The remainder of the day will be free for further sightseeing and depending on the weather, it may be possible to take an optional trip to the Eagle’s Nest, in neighboring Berchtesgaden.
Meals: Breakfast

Day Eight - Salzburg / Cesky Krumlov / Prague: This morning we will depart Salzburg to drive to the Czech border and on to Cesky Krumlov. At the crossroads of Bohemian, Austrian and Italian cultures for more than 400 years, its long history is still reflected in its imposing Castle and more than 300 protected buildings of the old town. Almost unchanged since the 19th Century, our walking tour takes us a step back in time and we will visit the museum dedicated to Egon Schiele, whose mother was born in the town.  In the afternoon, we will continue to the Czech capital of Prague for the last three nights of the tour.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day Nine - Prague: Known as the Golden City, the city of one hundred-towers and the Jerusalem of Europe, Prague is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Today’s walking tour will take in all the highlights of this breath-taking city – the castle area of Hradcany with St. Vitus Cathedral, the Lesser Quarter, Charles’ Bridge and the Old Town Square. The afternoon and evening are free for individual exploration and shopping – perhaps visit the extensive Jewish quarter or enjoy the bustle of Wenceslas Square.
Meals: Breakfast

Day Ten - Prague: The day is completely free to enjoy the charms of magical Prague - your tour manager will assist with suggestions for further sightseeing and exploration. In the evening we will enjoy our farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day Eleven - Prague: This morning we begin our journey home, returning to the US with a lifetime of memories.
